In 1996, with an old pickup truck and two crew members, company President James Smith (“Jim”) founded Red Clay Industries. Believing that top quality, customer satisfaction, and reasonable prices are the key to success, he grew his business to incorporate a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial asphalt paving services. Two years later, Vice President Dick Stroup joined Jim in building what is now one of the most prominent Asphalt Paving Companies in the Charlotte Area. Today, Red Clay Industries covers five North Carolina counties, and 2 South Carolina counties. Red Clay Industries and its affiliates employ over 50 people and have expanded their range of offerings to 
include concrete and asphalt reclaiming as well as concrete site work.
